Publisher Overview
The Publisher is your command center for taking the work you’ve perfected in the Editor and turning it into deliverables. Instead of exporting schedules one by one, the Publisher allows you to orchestrate an entire document set in one efficient, repeatable workflow.
The Publisher Anatomy

What You Can Do
Section titled “What You Can Do”The Publisher is built to remove the “manual” from documentation. Here is how it streamlines your day-to-day work:
Batch Publishing
Section titled “Batch Publishing”Stop clicking “Export” over and over. You can build a custom Export Set of all your project schedules. Whether you need to print a full set of door hardware schedules or export room finishes to Excel for a client review, the Publisher handles the batch work for you in a single click.
Smart Drafting Views
Section titled “Smart Drafting Views”Need to place a schedule directly onto a Revit sheet? Instead of relying on native Revit schedule elements that can be difficult to format, the Publisher converts your Vellum schedules into linked Drafting View images.
- High-Fidelity: You get exact control over fonts, borders, and layouts.
- Smart Tracking: These images are linked to your source data. If your room numbers change or finish values update in the model, your Drafting View images can be refreshed instantly—no need to re-export or re-place the view on your sheet.
Professional Output Formats
Section titled “Professional Output Formats”- PDF: Create high-quality, print-ready documents that look exactly like your Vellum Editor workspace.
- Excel: Export schedules with full data integrity. Great for coordination with consultants who need to manipulate the data.
- CSV: Perfect for linking your Revit data to external databases or custom internal workflows.
Real-Time “What You See Is What You Get”
Section titled “Real-Time “What You See Is What You Get””Avoid the “print, check, re-format” cycle. With the Live Preview window, you can see your formatting choices—like page orientation, margins, and column widths—applied in real-time, ensuring your final deliverable looks professional the first time.
Why Use the Publisher?
Section titled “Why Use the Publisher?”Architects and designers should focus on building design, not wrestling with Excel exports or Revit schedule formatting.
- Consistency: Ensure every schedule in your project set follows the same visual standards.
- Efficiency: Save hours of manual exporting and re-formatting every time a design change occurs.
- Confidence: With the Live Preview and the ability to update Drafting Views, you know exactly what is going out the door to your clients and consultants.
